Questions
about billing.

Prices are in USD. More about plans and credits in the docs.

How does the Free plan work?

Every new workspace starts on Free, with 1,000 credits for its first month from the day it is created. After that, it gets 300 credits each month. Individuals and teams can use Free, including private repositories. No credit card is required, and Free never turns into a paid plan automatically.

What if I run out of credits?

On any plan, add credits or wait for your next monthly refresh. You can also upgrade for more monthly credits and higher concurrency. Reviews already in progress are not interrupted when the balance runs out; new reviews and fixes need enough credits to start. Fixes stop if their balance runs out. Reviews of public repositories are free up to a fair-use limit.

Will my whole team need a seat?

No. All members and repositories in one workspace share its plan and credit balance. There are no seat fees.

How much do add-on credits cost?

On every plan, including Free, add-on credits start at $5, at a base rate of $10 for 1,000 credits. Each purchase gets 10% off from $20, 20% off from $100, or 30% off from $500, based on its price before discount. The same discounts apply to every plan. Auto-reload requires an active paid plan and a workspace admin to turn it on.

Do credits expire?

Monthly credits expire when the next monthly period starts and do not roll over. Add-on credits are valid for 12 months and carry over between billing periods.

What happens when I upgrade from Free?

Your paid plan starts when you pay, with its full monthly credits, and renews monthly from that date. Unused Free credits keep their original expiry date.

Can I change plans?

Between paid plans, upgrades take effect after payment. The price difference and extra monthly credits are prorated for the rest of the billing period, and your renewal date stays the same. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Cancel renewal in the Billing portal. Your paid plan stays active until the end of its paid period, then the workspace returns to Free. Your results and settings stay available.

How credits work

Credits pay for actual review usage. The size of the code change, review depth and the work needed affect the final charge; there is no fixed number of reviews per plan.

Reviews use credits, including the first review and reviews with no findings. Reviewing a new push or the same PR again uses more credits. Reviews of public repositories are free up to a fair-use limit.

Credits are charged as a review runs. Workspace admins can see the final charge in Usage & billing → Usage.

Queued reviews cost nothing. Canceling a review after it starts keeps the charges already incurred, as does a review that fails after calling a connector. HeyDeer returns the credits for any other failed review.

Your balance never goes below zero. When it runs out, started reviews continue and HeyDeer covers unpaid usage. New credits can pay for further usage; amounts already covered are never charged later.
